The OfferBox ("we", "us", "our") connects students with tutors for admissions test, interview, and A Level tutoring. This policy explains what personal information we collect through theofferbox.co.uk (the "Platform"), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to run the Platform:

• Account details — your name and email address, provided via Google Sign-In.
• Tutor profile details (tutors only) — university, course, academic qualifications and results, hourly rate, profile photo, availability, and bio.
• Booking details — session times, any notes exchanged between a tutor and student when arranging a session, and meeting links.
• Payment information — payments are handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your card details on our own servers.
• Communications — emails we send you about your bookings and payments, and any messages you send us directly (e.g. for support).

How we use your information

• To operate the Platform — matching students with tutors, and managing bookings.
• To process payments and pay tutors, via Stripe.
• To send you emails about your account, such as a new session request, a tutor accepting or declining, a confirmed session, or a payment update.
• To review and verify tutor applications before they're listed on Find a Tutor.
• To respond to support queries.
• To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the third parties that help us run the Platform, and only as far as each one needs:

• Stripe — to process payments and pay tutors.
• Google — to authenticate you when you sign in.
• Daily.co / Jitsi — to provide the video call for your tutoring sessions.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and booking information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards where we have a legal or accounting reason to (for example, UK tax law requires financial records to be kept for at least six years).

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate.
• Ask us to delete your information, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, certain kinds of processing.
• Receive your information in a portable format.

Students under 18

Many students using the Platform are sixth-form students. We only collect the information described above, and we'd encourage anyone under 18 to involve a parent or guardian when signing up or booking sessions.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor — we never handle or store raw card details ourselves.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as the Platform changes. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
